SILVER INGOTS
Solid silver ingots were produced to commentate historical events such as jubeliee years as well as more personal dates and occasions.
They would feature a set of hallmarks much larger in size than traditional assay stamping. The marks comprise of a makers mark (the company or silversmiths individual mark, usually initials), a stamp indicating the purity of the metal, country of origin, the assay office stamp and a letter indicating the year of production. These two necklaces are available for purchase in our earlham street shop.
