Also known as Boots, ‘Mosquito’, Tropical, but more commonly referred to as just Mosquito boots, not in reference to the Mosquito plane of 633 Squadron fame, but the pesky little critters responsible for spreading the Zika virus.
Made of a soft supple suede, the tops have a drawstring to protect the lower leg from insect, and even snake bites in tropical areas. Interestingly, these were also favoured by Mods in the 1960s as scooter boots, picked up for peanuts no doubt as post-war surplus. This particular pair are unworn, size 9, and available at the Earlham St. Shop.
